Indian Podi is a flavorful south Indian powdered condiment made with lentils, dried coconut and spices. This recipe is easy to make, as you just have to roast and then grind everything together
INGREDIENTS:

1 cup Chana dal (Split Chickpeas)

1/2 cup Whole Urad dal (Whole Black Gram Lentils without skin)

1/4 cup dry Coconut
-
1 tablespoon Mustard seeds
-
1 tablespoon Jaggery
-
1 inch Tamarind approx.

1/8 tsp Hing (asafetida)

3/4 tbsp Salt (as per taste)

2 sprigs curry Leaves (rinse and pat dry)

5 to 6 dried red Chilies

Oil for frying

Clean all ingredients.

Fry chana dal, urad dal, coconut, mustard seeds, red chilies, curry leaves, and tamarind, and let it cool.

Add salt and hing and coarsely grind everything.

Your Podi is ready to serve.

Store Podi in an airtight container at room temperature.
